The design action of the cam-over torque wrench is such that when the tool reaches its pre-set torque value the mechanism disengages from the drive thus limiting the torque applied. The break-over torque wrench reduces the chance of overtightening. Once the break-over wrench achieves torque, the head breaks-over signaling to the operator to stop applying torque to the fastener or bolt.
